Team SoloMid vs. RFLX Gaming

Team SoloMid vs. RFLX Gaming

Unconventional play dominated the match from the beginning, as Team SoloMid took a non-standard early laning approach that affected the match throughout. Rather than putting a single player in the top lane, TSM opted instead in game one to start off with two champions in the traditionally solo lane, leaving the bottom lane to a single player. The strategy seemed to put RFLX on their back foot and gave TSM a series of early opportunities to rack up minion kills and attack from different directions.

The first game was an easy win for TSM, and despite a mid-game comeback in game two from RFLX, TSM’s Reginald was able to make use of Karthus’ global ult in a series of team fights to help push his team over the finish line and take the match in straight games.

Player of the Match: TSM’s Reginald was a dominant force in both games, leading his team in kills as LeBlanc in game one, and a constant thorn in RFLX’s side as Karthus in Game Two.

Key Plays:

  • TSM’s decision to put two players top, rather than a traditional solo top lane
  • TSM’s push on middle lane put RFLX on the defensive during the drawn out fight
  • TheRainMan’s backdoor push on RFLX’s bottom lane inhibitor at 37 minutes after the remainder of TSM drew out RFLX in deep middle lane
  • A late 4 for 0 Baron fight for TSM that sealed the game – TSM knocked out everyone but RedFlubber’s Zilean

Top Players: TSM Chaox’s Graves dominated the early game, racking 200 minion kills at the 25 minute mark, well ahead of the competition and putting TSM in a position to dominate the item selection game. Chaox finished with a 3-4 with a 291 critter score, his high minion total giving him an edge as an Attack Damage carry despite a low kill count.

  • A second ace 38 minutes in helped TSM press their advantage and push through the middle lane into RFLX’s base and take the match

Top Players: Reginald made good use of Karthus’ ultimate throughout the game, keeping Arcknight’s Kogmaw from gaining momentum in the bottom lane.
